Style Alert!

2009 can mean so much to us all; new starts, resolutions, and clean slates, Something else? Style.
This year is going to be better than ever and we all know it! We're all going to march out of the house beautiful feeling good inside out!
The lovely Princess Diana, Audrey Hepburn, and the famous Jackie Kennedy all found a soft spot in ours hearts where they stay even past longevity. They have also been found by the tabloids for their excellent taste in jewelry and fashion molding them into envied American style icons and there are some new celebrities who are ready to squeeze into that category too.
Though the classic Jackie O and other favorites, will always remain in style, other fashions of the pearl have expanded. Long strands of pearls have found their way onto Karl Lagerfield's cat walk and many style icons.
Sarah Jessica Parker (staring in the TV series Sex and the City), Lauren Conrad (The Hills), and Diana Vickers (The X Factor finalist) are only a few of the recent celebs coming out to Holywood modestly glamoured up in these timeless pearls.
Now where can we all get something like that? Well, I'll tell you Claire's is selling them, that is if you want the overpriced fakes with little selection. Want the reals for a bargain price plus more? Then I think you've found your answer. http://www.orientalpearls.net/
See you there!

Happy 2009!

Best wishes to all, this rather belated greeting brings. To usher in the new year, I've taken the liberty of giving the website another complete makeover! The lace details really delight me to no end. Hope you guys like it as much as I do!

As for my status report, I'm returning to Melbourne on the 28th, so all pending orders will be carried out as fast as my abilities allow. Thank you everyone for your undulating patience in my very busy period of rest (what do you know... a paradox!).

Bead shopping has been very fruitful here in Singapore, BUT but but I forsee myself getting sucked right into school the minute I get back and assimilate into Life- so future releases might not be in a while. Rest assured I'll try as much as possible to come up with new things to keep myself sane though. Meanwhile, stay perky!

Anyone hungry for a bit of trivia?

So yesterday evening I was just doin' my midnight web searching. You know? Where you're supposed to be getting that good night's sleep, but just ain't ready. That time where all your friends are off Facebook and chat rooms are all empty so you just search random stuff on either Google or Youtube or something hoping to find something that's worth your read. Yeah, that was moi just last night, it came at the price of a couple of eye sags, but I did stumble over something pretty fascinating. Just thought I'd post it up here for all you folks to check out.

Way way way back, before my time, my grandfather's, and a lot of other old people, the pearl has always, and still is thought of as a symbol of impeccable un-tarnishable perfection (hence, its Latin meaning of "unique"). It is known as the oldest gem and used to be considered the most valuable until the diamond came in to the picture and kicked butt. For the very first time, the word pearl skipped along and entered itself into our English language in the fourteenth century. It's super old to put it flatly, another reason it screams "CLASSIC!" and no one ever messes with a classic.

In Europe the pearl was used already used as jewelry by both men and women and was highly popular during the thirteenth and fourteenth century (as it still is). Several other European countries, such as Rome, on the other hand only allowed one with high status walk around in all the bling. That one new high school teacher who wanted to make the Good First Impression would have never been able to even walk out of the house. Not even lawyers. Now though, we lucky ducks, walk up and down the side walk in these preciousness.

They--the pearls--have also been considered one of the most perfect wedding gifts because of their meaning of purity and innocence. LIke, seriously dudes, it's like somewhere in the top three best. Ditch the Wal-Mart broiler you know they've already got, because I'm telling you what they--okay, mostly the bride--will appreciate the most. Do not end up as the friend with the stingy reputation. In Hindu religion, part of the marriage practice is the piercing of a perfect pearl during the ceremony. Don't know if you ever noticed this, but no two pearls are alike. Just like snowflakes, both are beautiful, both delicate, but only one can you wear and make the biggest jaw dropping statement in the room.

Admit it. Now. We've all had "those days." "Those days" we go window shopping and get a little too literal and before you know it you've got your nose snubbed up to the window and your breath's foggin' up the glass. Plus you've got the manager calling the two biggest buffest--and definitely scariest--security guards in the mall. Okay, a bit of a stretch. Well fear no more dearie, we've all found our simple solution a click away. Feel beautiful gorgeous classy elegant in one whirlwind from the moment your put on your brand new pearl jewelry from Orientalpearls.net.

P.S. Something to tell the kids: Pocahontas' father, Powhattan, was a big time pearl seller.
