First let's start with the DC shopping event with Monif C. Plus Sizes. I'm a huge fan of Monif C. and have a closet full her dresses!!! Tip from the inside....when you see a design you love, buy it right away...they sell out fast and as she designs seasonally, the items you can't always get again. Most of you know I was one of the first Monif C. Plus Size interns, started about 4 years ago at the home office, then took on an assistant role and worked in the Monif C. NYC showroom. As Fennimas started to grow (noting I also hold down a 9-5 corporate fashion job at Jones Apparel Group) I was no longer able to work part time with Monif. My heart is still there and I help out at many events. I was blessed to accompany her and her fabulous assistant/stylist Brandon "Blue" Coates to Washington DC a few weeks ago....where the ladies dress with serious style and of course Monif C. Plus Sizes is a staple in these women's closest as well. It was a BUSY day, shoot it was a busy weekend....filled with shopping, lots of laughs and smiles, awesome jacuzzi tub, (mini bar 'wink'), fine DC men, awesome brunch at Kramer books and a rainy car ride back to NYC. This is the second DC event I've done with Monif and it gets better every time. I was blessed to be able to bring along Fennimas jewelry to accompany the beautiful clothes. Thank you Monif!
