The Obamas seems to be making headlines everywhere these days, and not just in the area of politics either. Slowly, their names have been squirming into Hollywood alongside celebrity big names! This year during PARADE’s annual Summer Pop Culture Poll, guess who made it ‘sexiest couple of the year?’

And tailing them right behind was our own Commander-in-Chief and his savvy wife.

That wasn’t the only winning for the Obama’s in that issue. Michelle Obama made a mark in the magazine all by herself. She was chosen as “biggest trendsetter” in the country and by a large margin! Half the votes all went to her while the other half was divided among Sarah Jessica Parker, who placed second, and several other celebs.

Though the first lady and SJP look as though they share nothing in common at first glance, they won first and second as America’s biggest trendsetters! Flipping through photos one finally start to touch on the reason too. Not only are both woman extremely talented at putting together the best ensembles, but their fine taste in pearl necklace jewelry are practically identical! Wherever you look, there’s Michelle Obama and a classy pearl necklace. One week it might be her commonly seen double row pearl necklace, and others, she’ll sometimes dazzle it up with a single row necklace made of large pearls.

SJP, while prancing down the streets of Hollywood, catching the eyes of all envious women, can be caught wearing longer, casual pearl necklaces. In her latest movie, ‘Sex and the City,’ she’s still loyal to the precious gem donning opera length pearl necklaces in several scenes (once even in her pajamas)!
