Keshi Pearl Necklace

Keshi pearls, named after poppy seeds, are usually quite small in size. Keshi means poppy seeds in Japanese. Keshi pearls can be either a freshwater or saltwater pearl. They are small in size because there is no nucleus to guide the ultimate shaping of the pearl.

These pearls come in different colors and shades. Keshi pearls have a very uncommon orientation with high lustre. Keshi pearls have become somewhat rare.

Three factors need to be taken in consideration while buying keshi pearl necklaces; necklace length and style, clasp, pearl quality and matching.
There are many styles depending upon length of necklace like the choker, princess, matinee, opera, and rope. An exquisite necklace clasp adds charm to the necklace. It is an important part of the strand, and lifts the necklace’s glory. Even pearl necklace clasps have different types like Lobster clasp, spring ring clasp, multi strand box or single box clasp.
A good pearl necklace has fine, matching pearls. The strand should be knotted on both sides of each pearl to prevent scratching from each others. Pearls should be matching on a strand. A perfect necklace should have smaller pearls near clasp to the largest pearl in the middle.
